Sharing Trails

Easily share your mantrailing trails using GPX files, links, PDF reports, or live tracking. Whether you want to provide real-time updates, generate a printable report, or share recorded trails, The Mantrailing App offers multiple options.

The Mantrailing App provides several ways to share your recorded trails. You can export trails as GPX files, generate a shareable link, create a detailed PDF report, or enable live tracking for real-time updates. Please note that trail sharing requires the Pro-Version.

[ICON:share_location] Live Tracking

Live tracking allows you to broadcast your active recording in real time. The app generates a unique link that you can send via your preferred messaging app, enabling others to follow your progress live. If your trail includes a connected runner trail, viewers can see that as well.

To enable live sharing:

  1. Start a recording in the app.
  2. Tap [ICON:share_location] in the bottom right corner.
  3. Wait for the app to generate a link and open the sharing dialog.
  4. Share the link with anyone who should follow your trail live.

Link Sharing

You can share all recorded dog trails via a link, allowing others to view the trail along with any additional information, including a connected runner trail. Only dog trails can be shared this way.

To share a trail as a link:

  1. Open the dog trail you want to share.
  2. Tap the share icon in the top right corner:
    • [ICON:share] on Android
    • [ICON:ios_share] on iOS
  3. Select Link and wait for it to generate.
  4. Share the link through your preferred messaging app.

You can disable the shared link at any time from the info panel located below the map. (This option is only visible for shared trails.)

PDF Export / Printing Your Trail

For a detailed, printable report, you can export your dog trails as a PDF. The report includes all recorded trail information, making it easy to print or share.

To generate a PDF:

  1. Open the dog trail you want to print.
  2. Tap the share icon in the top right corner:
    • [ICON:share] on Android
    • [ICON:ios_share] on iOS
  3. Select PDF and wait for it to generate.
  4. Print the document or share it using your preferred app.

GPX Export

Trails can also be exported as GPX files, allowing others to import the runner trail or dog trail into their own app. Learn more in Working with GPX Files.
